Reports in CONNECT

Student Reports in Connect – Parent flyer

All student reports for semester 1 will be on Connect- check out the FAQ section of the parents tab- last question-  for a step by step guide. I have also added a letter explaining the changes to reporting due to COVID 19. As always if you have questions contact your class teacher or the school office. We won’t be having a parent reporting afternoon this term but we hope to commence IEP and MAP meetings in semester 2 after further restrictions are lifted.

Bird Rescue at our Senior Campus

Today we rescued a Tawny Frogmouth Owl – he had been sitting on the Business Centre sign for most of the morning. He looked sick, tired and skinny. He wasn’t too happy – eyes closed – not moving at all.

Thank you to Mr Griffin  for bravely wrapping him in a towel and to Mrs Benstead for putting him safely in a box so I could drive him to wildlife rescue – Native Arc in Bibra Lake.

He definitely came alive when we arrived – nipping at the lady and opening his eyes wide – we could see one eye was severely damaged or blind – Native Arc were very appreciative for us bringing him in….

Kind of cool to be so close to one – we will be updated on his progress!

Thanks to all students who entered our competition, you had some very creative ideas. Congratulation to the winners –

Monique Park Year 8, Cole Turner Year 9 and Joseph Martin Year 12. They will each receive a voucher!

its been a smooth start to term 2 thus far – we have about 45% attendance at school  – it is a parent /carer choice about students physically attending. You are not being forced either way and we cant recommend what option you choose. We respect your choice as a community member. I have been really happy to see students at home interacting with students at school via Web EX ,Connect and Microsoft teams – some very clever stuff happening – check out the latest Instagram post . Hope you liked our viral dance challenge circa miss jones and our you tube things to do at home via Justin our chaplain, We 100% respect your choice and we are working super hard to provide on line learning and face to face teaching – to be honest its a bit hard !But at Cannington we are a CANDO school

Take care and keep in contact with our school vis connect classes – website contacts or simply ringing the school on 93512480 – we want to help you !

Term 2- government update

I hope everyone is enjoying their school holiday break and have recovered from a chocolate easter binge and more importantly have been staying at home. The State government has decided to allow parent/carers to choose what type of schooling they would like for the first month of term 2. I have attached a school letter and the plan from the government about the options. The office will be open April 28th if you have any questions or use the contact form on the website – please remember staff are on holidays and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Take Care.
