On Tuesday the 29th of May, Cannington Community Education Support Centre competed in the Hills Inter-School Basketball Competition at Ray Owen Recreation Centre in Lesmurdie. 15 senior schools and around 30 teams participated across 3 inclusive divisions during the day. We entered teams in both division 1 and 2 where all students who represented the school were able to develop their basketball, teamwork and sportsmanship skills during four games. The Division 2 team which was a mix of both senior and middle school students continuously developed their ability to work as a team each time they played, winning the last two games confidently. The division 1 team which compiled mostly senior school students went undefeated during the round robin stage of the competition, progressing to the grand final against Cyril Jackson Senior Campus. The final was played with a high level of skill and sportsmanship by both sides all game, with Cannington finishing the game in the lead and being crowned the Division 1 champions.
